Portrait for Financial Advisor Magazine

Financial Advisor Magazine contacted me to take portraits of Robert Bergson for a story they were writing. We took several shots inside the beautiful Northern Trust Bank downtown in the Chicago Loop. The high ceilings and marble walls made for a wonderful backdrop to properly contextualize this story.

Business Portraits

Business portrait photography is a captivating and important aspect of professional branding. In today's competitive business world, having a strong and professional image is crucial for success. Business portrait photography focuses on capturing the essence and personality of individuals in a corporate setting.

When it comes to portrait photography, there are several key elements to consider. First and foremost, it's important to create a comfortable and relaxed environment for the subject. This helps them feel at ease and allows their true personality to shine through in the photographs.

Another important aspect of corporate portrait photography is the use of lighting and composition. Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the mood and highlighting the subject's features. Whether it's natural light or artificial lighting, the photographer must have a good understanding of how to manipulate light to create the desired effect.

Composition is also key in business portrait photography. The photographer must carefully consider the placement of the subject within the frame, as well as any props or background elements that may be included. The goal is to create a visually appealing and professional image that accurately represents the individual and their brand.

In addition to technical skills, a successful business portrait photographer must also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must be able to connect with their subjects and make them feel comfortable in front of the camera. This helps to bring out their natural expressions and create authentic and engaging portraits.

Overall, business portrait photography is a fascinating and rewarding field. It allows photographers to capture the essence of individuals in a professional setting and help them create a strong and memorable brand image. So whether you're a business professional looking to update your headshot or a photographer interested in this genre, business portrait photography is definitely worth exploring.
